Your Office Visit to Family Dental Spa of Brandon

During your first office visit to Family Dental Spa of Brandon, we’ll provide a clinical exam, commonly referred to as a routine check-up. We’ll assess the overall health of your mouth and teeth, starting with an X-ray that allows us to view the structure of the jaw as well as your teeth’s natural placement, as they are the foundation for your teeth. Here we can also view malformed roots, and cavity and decay conditions.

What Your First Office Visit Involves

Your first visit to Family Dental Spa of Brandon also involves an evaluation of your medical history. When you share your medical history, you’ll want to present information that is as up to date and complete as possible regarding your health. Let us know if you have recently been hospitalized, have had surgery, or if you had any recent medical issues. If you are taking any medications, we’ll need to know the names, doses, and frequency that you’re required to take them. Be sure to include the name of the physician(s) that are facilitating care and/or prescribing medicine. Please include over-the-counter products you may be taking. All this will help assist us in choosing the best care possible for you.

Routine Office Visits

We suggest routine checkups for all family members ages four and up. Routine checkups are important at Family Dental Spa of Brandon to:

  • Find possible issues that may not be visible or problems that you can’t feel or see.
  • Seek out developing decay issues
  • Concentrate on rectifying Oral Health issues in the early stages while they are still manageable

Routine checkups consist of an in-depth cleaning, polishing, and an oral exam by Dr. Perez. During the oral examination, Dr. Perez will check the well-being of your gums, teeth, mouth, cheeks, and tongue, and will examine your existing restorations and fillings because over time they can chip, crack or wear away from pressure caused by chewing, grinding, or clenching.

Typically regular checkup appointments are around 45 minutes. Our patients will be seen by appointment only. We ask that you have the same consideration that we use in making very effort to be on time for our patients. If you find that you cannot keep an appointment, please be sure to contact us at (813) 661-1600 at your earliest convenience.
